After three years of marriage, Glee star Jane Lynch has announced that she and her wife Dr. Lara Embry are filing for divorce.
The pair met at a fundraiser in 2009 and tied the knot a year later in Massachusetts, one of the very few states which recognises same sex marriage.
Lynch told People magazine: “Lara and I have decided to end our marriage. This has been a difficult decision for us as we care very deeply about one another. We ask for privacy as we deal with this family matter.”
Their wedding was a small ceremony attended by 19 of their friends and family. Jane has reportedly become very close to her step-daughter, Haden.
Lynch made an appearance at the Tony awards on Sunday 9th June. She is currently starring in Annie: The Musical.
