Coronation Street’s Tina (Michelle Keegan) is set for a stormy new storyline, which involves her getting up close and personal with an older man.
Producer Stuart Blackburn has confirmed that Tina will fall for the “wrong person” in the popular soap.
He told Inside Soap: “Tina’s had a hideous old year with the surrogacy drama and losing Tommy (Chris Fountain) – but she’s no saint. She’s capable of making mistakes and falling in love with the wrong person.
“She’ll start a feud with Tracy (Kate Ford) and Rob (Marc Baylis), before falling into Peter’s arms.”
He continued: “Unfortunately for Tina, she’ll find herself in a place where both Tracy and Carla (Alison King) have reasons to hate her!”

However despite Tina and Peter’s affair, Stuart said that Peter’s planned marriage to Carla will go ahead.
“We see Peter and Carla as being like Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor. They’ll make it to the altar later this year, that I can say.”
Blackburn added: “But whether they end up together for life or not, I don’t think there is a damn thing either could do to the other that would fundamentally stop them loving each other! It’s just that love isn’t always enough.”
