This year’s series of the X Factor draws to a close a tonight and to mark the occasion, we have put together some of the best moments of 2013.
From the early audition shows when you alternate between cringing and laughing at the acts that do their best to impress the judges… to the live shows when some of the live performances are truly moving.

Dudley Cowan did his best to impress the judging panel but Sharon Osbourne was quick to tell him he would be better off getting a job at Seaworld. We do love Mrs O….

Topless Performance
Keen to impress the live audience, Fin Henley went a little but crazy running all over the arena topless. While his energy levels were pretty good, the same can’t be said for his singing ability. He threw two glasses of water at the stage in a bid to appear ‘rock and roll’. Gary Barlow responded by throwing water at him…a definite highlight.

The Power Of Love
Sam Bailey made it to the final, after giving epic performances week after week. This ballad from Week One was a defining moment for the star as she donned a little black dress showing that the prison officer has a very glam side indeed. Not to mention that absolutely stunning voice…
What Does The Fox Say?
Dermot’s entry to the Ylvis song What Does The Fox Say? cemented our faith in him as the coolest presenter, possibly ever. Although, we do love Ant & Dec too. Jumping on to the stage, complete with random dance moves and a slick suit…he’s just a dude.
Sharon and Louis Fall Out
Sharon does her best to keep her contestant Shelley in the competition by pleading with Louis to vote for her.However, kissing and hugging him doesn’t exactly go to plan and Louis sends Shelley home…

Forgetting Lyrics
Tamera made a habit of this during the competition but this performance of Whitney Houston’s I Have Nothing really stands out. After forgetting her words, the singer flees backstage where her family and Dermot shout the words at her. Just when it looks like all might be lost, she returns to give the performance of her life.
Tears For Fears
Nicholas McDonald had an emotional effect on Louis Walsh’s mentors at judges houses, bringing both Shane Filan and Sinitta to tears. Louis was wearing sunglasses but for all we know, he too shed a tear as did Nicholas himself. Not a dry eye in the house!
Save Me Song
Luke Friend’s save me song on last weekend’s show was one of the series highlights. Singing Snow Patrols’s Run, it was obvious how much staying in the competition meant to him. He even dropped to his knees as the song finished giving a truly heartfelt performance. Unfortunately for Luke, he was voted out of the competition last night.
