Ben Richards took to Twitter on Monday to gush about his newborn daughter, his first child with partner Kirsty Duff.
The actor, best known for starring in Holby City and The Bill, is over the moon about becoming a dad.
He posted two pictures of the arrival, named Freja Amelie, and wrote: “Sorry for the delay, but we are over the moon to introduce Freja Amelie to you. She is our absolute world.”

Speaking to Hello! magazine, Ben said: “To be honest, I am only just starting to get round to the idea that someone isn’t going to say, ‘Cut!’ and take her from me.
“Sometimes I think I’m just playing the role of dad and round the corner is the actual mum and dad waiting for the scene to finish.”

Ben was told by doctors that it was unlikely he would have children after being diagnosed with bowel cancer.
He and his ex-wife went through the heartache of losing seven babies during their 15-year marriage due to a rare genetic disorder they both carried.
