Seven Reasons We Want To Celebrate Michael Fassbender On His Birthday

Why we're thankful for 38-years of this Killarney King.

Her

The half-Irish half-German legend that is Michael Fassbender turns 38-years old today.

To mark the occasion, we decided to round up just some of the reasons we’d be more than happy to buy him a birthday drink.

While we’re sure our birthday party invite is just waiting in the post, here’s why we’re toasting this Killarney King…

That. Face.
Can we just take a minute to appreciate these genes?

Michael Fassbender - It certainly wouldn't be a shame to see Michael take the role of James Bond on. And we're sure we're not the only females who think so!

Proof that an Irish man can be absolutely beautiful. *Swoon*

He Has THE Craic
Nothing to see here. Just chilling with his homies J-Law and Bradley Cooper. Loving life.

As Well As Acting, He’s Got Some Hidden Talents Too…

Everyone knows you can’t trust a man who plays guitar. You will fall in love. It won’t be rational.

“I wanted to be a lead guitarist. But I wasn’t good enough. And it’s always hard to find a drummer, especially in small towns. Or a bass player. So it was just me and this other guy Mike – the two Mikes – and we tried to put on a gig one time in this pub at lunchtime, playing Metallica. It didn’t go off too well.”

Oh, And Did We Mention He Can Dance?

What rhymes with hug me?

One of the only reasons we may actually be grateful the world gave us Robin Thicke.

He’s Got The Irish Sense of Humour

We all love a man who can do a decent self-deprecating joke:

“You can imagine the combinations you can make with a word like ‘Fassbender'”

He’s Willing To Talk About The Gender Divide

When filming scenes for Shame, Fassbender says he knew he needed to go full-frontal, but was shocked by the lengthy attention he got for flashing the flesh.

Speaking to media at the time, he said:

“To be honest with you, I think it’s the idea of male frontal nudity. It just baffles me: women can parade around naked all the time, but the guy conveniently has his pants on.

“I remember my mum always complaining about that to me, saying, ‘This is such bullshit, it’s always the women who are naked’ … So I did this one for you, Mum!”

The Man’s Got Power
Named as one of the 100 Most Influential People by Time Out in 2012, it’s not just us keeping an eye on this Killarney native.

All we’ve left to say is… Happy Birthday Fassie

Yes, yes we do…
