Things haven’t been great for any of the squad this week as the big celebrity feud of 2k16 rears on.
For Selena, things took a particularly nasty turn when she tried to jump to gal pal Taylor’s defence.
It’s no wonder that the singer might be feeling the strain of Internet trolls but this particular message has left fans feeling bemused.
After performing to thousands of fans in Jakarta in Indonesia during her first performance in the country, Gomez took to Instagram to say she felt “unauthentic” and “unconnected” from both herself and her music.
“Tonight I felt extremely unauthentic, unconnected to both myself and my music,” she wrote emotionally.
“I’ve never really felt like my materials, wardrobe or a video could define me. I act on a moment and fear something that hasn’t happened. I’m stagnant, I stay still and don’t just sit with myself first and ask ‘is this where I am, wholeheartedly?’ I’ve always told the truth. I’m always true to my word, I’ve shown who I am but I need to rethink some areas of my life creatively and personally,” she continued cryptically.
“Had to get that out,” she concluded.
The caption makes it clear that the post was not specifically connected to the gig she just played.
“Not being negative about anything I’ve done. I’m grateful for every single moment I get here – Indonesia you were LOUD and clearly inspiring. Love you so much,” she said.
While nobody seems to have grasped exactly what the hell the starlet is talking about, some suspect the post is evidence of Gomez’s struggle to deal with close friend Christina Grimmie’s death.
Singer Christina Grimmie was shot and killed after a concert she performed at in Orlando.
According to reports, a man walked up and shot her, resulting in fatal injuries. Her brother then tackled the man who then killed himself in the ensuing struggle.
It has since emerged that the gunman had travelled from Orlando from another city in Florida, purely to target Christina.
