This is a little insight into my weekly shenanigans and a chance for me to share some nuggets of my experiences from the world of music, fashion and well… life in general.
Last Friday, I had the chance to meet a true icon of our time, the designer and philanthropist Dame Vivienne Westwood. I got involved with a charity called Environmental Justice Foundation (EJF) a while ago and was one of a few faces to model a War/Peace t-shirt designed by DVW to raise much needed funds for the cause.

Just to give you an idea – as many as 26 million people have already lost their homes as a direct result of climate change i.e. land lost by rising temperatures, sea-level change and extreme weather conditions. It’s crazy, in Ireland we complain it’s not warm enough, it rains too much but even the floods we saw in Cork this week is nothing compared to the severities people are facing in other parts of the world. If you have a chance, check out ww.ejf.com. Unless international help increases many more people are going to be displaced.
On a lighter note, if you check out one new artist this week, look up Lianne La Havas. She’s aaaaamazing! I met her on Thursday at MTV in Camden just before she supported Erikah Badu in London. Her voice and style are so refreshing. Yep, I’m basically in love with this girl! She has a great story of when Prince (yes THE Prince – small trendy guy with incredible fashion and even more incredible musical abilities, not that old dude with the ears married to Camilla and father-in-law to Kate) rang her up on her mobile to say he was a fan… but she left her phone at home (yes, we’ve all done that) so he rang her on her boyfriend’s phone… but his battery was dying. Yes, we’ve all been in those situations when mobile phones seem to hate us… but usually we’re not expecting a call from Prince.
And finally… Noel Clarke’s (BAFTA award-winning star of Adulthood and Kidulthood) new movie ‘Storage 24’ came out this weekend. Check out the trailer. If you watch reeeeeeeally carefully you may spot a familiar face… it’s me!
