Sam Faiers has really laid out her soul in her new autobiography Secret and Lies where she reportedly goes into a lot of detail about her break-up with former co-star Joey Essex.

In the book she brands him ‘paranoid’ and ‘delusional’, adding that he plays up to his image as ‘little boy lost’ but is really ‘angry and frustrated’ behind the scenes.

She wrote that “if delusion was an Olympic sport he’d have a gold medal”.

“That’s why I had to break up, for the sake of my sanity,” she revealed in the extracts from her book that were printed in The Sun.

“I hoped it would end in marriage and children but in the end I didn’t know who he was any more.”

Looking back over their on and off again relationship she added: “I had to watch on national TV as Amy Willerton found any excuse to touch him, do trials with him and rub suntan cream into his back.”

They had a turbulent relationship.

“I was at breaking point and my family were desperately worried for me. I fell into an exhausting obsession and ritual.

“It was only once I finally knew the relationship was over that I could see it for what it had really been,” she continued. “Made up of some good bits, but by and large fairly toxic.”
