Sam Faiers is reportedly being investigated by police after allegedly failing to pay a taxi fare last week.
The TOWIE star apparently got a taxi to the house of her on-off boyfriend Joey Essex but didn’t pay the £80 fee.
A Scotland Yard spokesperson told the Sunday People: “I can confirm we have received a complaint against a 23-year-old woman for making off without payment… Officers are investigating.”
Sam was apparently dropped off at Joey Essex’s house.
The taxi driver, Dereje Wubie, claims: “I picked up Sam Faiers and another man in the centre for town. On the way, she gave me her phone and asked me to speak to her boyfriend so he could direct me to the flats where he lives.
“When we got there, I told her it was 80 quid. She said she’d go inside and get it. I waited and waited but she never came out… In the end I went back home without the fare.”
A representative for Sam has also spoken out, saying that the 23-year-old is “absolutely mortified” about the situation. They said that she has been trying to get hold of the taxi firm “to settle the outstanding fare.”
