He’s managed the transition from comedian to social commentator fairly seamlessly and now Russell Brand is planning to push the boundaries a bit farther… by releasing a rap album.
According to the Irish Mirror, Brand has approached DJ and producer Naughty Boy about creating an album based on poems from his new book rEVOLution and the collection would heavily feature love and what he has learned from his past romances.
“Russell thinks it would be really fun to put some of the poems to music and asked Naughty Boy if he would get involved after getting to know him through his girlfriend Jemima [Khan].
“He will pick out some of his favourite quotes and go into a studio to record them. Naughty Boy is then planning to transform them into a spoken-word rap. It’s all a bit of fun and there are no plans to release it as an official chart single as yet.”
