We knew that they’d eventually all go their separate ways… Rupert Grint is to make his stage debut as a pill-popping gangster at the end of this year.
Grint is best known for his role as Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter franchise so this is quite a big change for the young actor.

The play, Mojo by Jez Butterworth is set in the 1950s and Grint will be playing a character called “Sweets” who’s addicted to taking amphetamines. It’s set in a dodgy nightclub after the murder of its owner.
The play was first put on at the Royal Court in 1995. Butterworth made a film version of Mojo in 1997 that starring Pinter, Ian Hart and Aidan Gillen.
Grint will be acting alongside Downton Abbey‘s Brendan Coyle, Daniel Mays best known as Ronnie Biggs in ITV’s drama Mrs Biggs and Ben Whishaw, Bond’s latest gadget guru Q.
The production which will previewing at the Harold Pinter Theatre in October.
