Proud Sharon Osbourne couldn’t hold back the tears as she watched her son perform on Dancing with the Stars last night on the first episode of this year’s series.
Jack has had a tough time recently. He was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2012 and his wife Lisa miscarried their second child at the beginning of this month. The couple had been looking forward to welcoming a baby brother for their 16 month old daughter Pearl.
His parents and Lisa were in the audience to support Jack and his brave decision to raise awareness for the degenerative nerve disorder.
Sharon posted emotional messages on Twitter, encouraging people to vote: ”@OfficialOzzy and I are SO PROUD of @JackOsbourne! He’s never danced before & he just did fabulous on @DancingABC!

Emotional Sharon in floods of tears
Jack impressed the judges with a score of 23, dancing to Eliza Doolittle’s Pack Up with his professional dance partner, Cheryl Burke.
“You can dance. That was fabulous. You’re going to give your sister a run for her money,” Len said, referring to his sister Kelly who came third on the show in 2009.
In promotional material for the show, Jack said, “Having been diagnosed with MS, I saw it as an opportunity to keep awareness on people’s minds. Although there is treatment for it, we’re no closer to a cure. I’m trying to raise awareness that way.”
After his performance he told the crowd, “Right now I’m physically able to do Dancing with the Stars but it might not always be this way so I don’t want to miss this opportunity.”
