Kanye West may be splashed across magazines around the world, but this picture shared by his stepmother Brenda Bentley shows a very different version of the man who makes the headlines.
The nine-year-old Kanye is pictured on the Metro in Washington DC.
“We were on the Metro because we were going to a parade downtown,” Brenda revealed, explaining the picture which was published in The Daily Mail.

“He was with his father, so he knew he had to behave. Ray wasn’t too strict as a dad, and it was summer – so that was playtime.
“Kanye was a curious person, he asked a lot of questions, his parents always encouraged him to do that,” she continued.

“The kind of questions were not the kind of questions I’d have thought of a nine-year-old asking. He was pretty smart.”
She also revealed that the rapper had learned to speak Chinese and do Tai Chi when he was ten.
