She may be a stunning Sports Illustrated model, act as a muse to John Legend and prove herself as an all round food lover, but now Chrissy Teigan can add self-empowerment to her list of attributes.
Proving that models are normal women too, the 29-year old stunner snapped an image sitting cross-legged in denim cut-off shorts, and gave a shout-out to her stretch marks in the caption:
“Bruises from bumping kitchen drawer handles for a week. Stretchies say hi!”
The model has famously come out against body shaming and the importance of being comfortable in your own skin, previously slamming retail brands for their treatment of her during photoshoots.
Only last year, Teigan told DuJour magazine how fashion giant Forever 21 fired her from a campaign for being ‘too fat’:
“They booked me directly when I was much younger and I showed up on set, they asked me if they could take a photo. And they shot that photo off to my agency who then calls me as I’m sitting in the makeup chair and they say, ‘You need to leave right now, they just said you are fat and you need to come get your measurements taken.’”
The model added that although she was hurt by the comments, it made her stand up for herself:
“I hate you, Forever 21. I hate you so much. Honestly, you are the worst.”
