We’ve all shed a tear or two at an inopportune moment after a tough breakup.
Thankfully for most of us, it’s not usually with the world watching and we’re safe to hole up in our bedrooms with only Ben & Jerry’s, wine and terrible movies for company.
Spare a thought, then, for poor Perrie Edwards. The Little Mix songstress is keeping a brave face on post her split from former One Direction singer Zayn Malik, who called off the couple’s engagement in a shock move two weeks ago.
Perrie, with the support of her bandmates, has carried on with their American tour and PR offensive, but on Wednesday it all just became a bit too much.
Following an appearance on the TODAY show, Little Mix participated in a Q&A event with Hoda Kotb, before lunching into a mini set, including a performance of The End.
During the last verse of the breakup song, which the group performed a cappella, Perrie broke down in tears before her bandmates rushed to comfort her.
Perrie and Malik began dating in early 2012 and became engaged in August 2013.
