As you may have seen, Leonardo DiCaprio got a big fright at the Golden Globes.
I believe it was an honest encounter, whereby he was having cross-table banter with a friend, probably Brad Pitt, then was caught off guard by a passer-by, in the form of Lady Gaga.
Reading into this situation far too deeply, I have decided that Leonardo DiCaprio is easily scared. Let’s see what else could’ve potentially frightened him at this year’s Golden Globes.
The Recession
Although it’s unlikely he was hit hard by the global recession, Leonardo still gets a fright every time it’s mentioned as he worries about the uncertainty surrounding the future of the film industry.
Jumanji
The Golden Globes ceremony is quite lengthy, so naturally the mind begins to wander. It’s very likely that Leo was reminded of the terrifying 1996 hit film and shuddered at the thought of an actual boardgame coming to life.
The Fragility Of Human Life
From the moment we are born, we are dying. It’s not impossible to believe that the weight of humanity’s immortality hit Leonardo right there and then. The poor pet.
Dundrum
Dundrum at peak times can be nothing short of harrowing. Chances are, Leo was thinking about his recent experience over Christmas where he couldn’t find a parking space for 35 minutes so gave up and went home.
Keith Duffy
Bare with me on this one. Keith Duffy seems to be a lovely man, but if he snuck up behind you unannounced at the Golden Globes, you’d get a fright. This is what has happened to Leonardo. Also, he is a massive Boyzone fan. No matter what.
Climate Change
Leonardo DiCaprio is a known awareness-raiser for climate change. His efforts to combat this preventable threat to our world are nothing short of valiant. Perhaps someone asked for ice in their drink, which triggered memories of the ending of Titanic for poor Leo. I’d never let go, Jack.
The Gym
The gym is a terrifying place. Leo is only human, he probably fears it just like the rest of us. Over-indulgence at the Golden Globes can often result in feelings of guilt, shame and fear.
The Leaving Cert
One of the most talented actors in the world is not exempt from having that recurring Leaving Cert fear. Given that Leo probably did his Leaving Cert over 20 years ago, it’s still in the back of his mind. Relax, it’s over. You’re an Aviator / Wolf Of Wall Street / Revenant now.
