Michelle Keegan is in the midst of preparations for her wedding to Mark Wright and has been vocal about the couple’s plans for their big day.

However, during an appearance on Alan Carr’s Chatty Man, Michelle got talking about another subject entirely.

Chat show host Alan was eager to find out the biggest lie the actress has ever told and her answer was interesting.

Former Coronation Street star Michelle said that after leaving college, she thought she had successfully applied for a job in a bank.

Her mother was delighted and bought her a new work wardrobe but the following week Michelle was disappointed to learn she didn’t get the post.

“I didn’t have it in me to tell the truth. So for like three weeks… I used to get up at half six, do my make-up, put on my outfit, drive to the top of the road and wait for mum to go to work.

“As she drove to work, I drove back in, went back to bed and then at 4 o’clock when she got in, I was gone. I’d get changed in my car and go home, like I’ve had a full day of work” said Michelle.

Twenty seven-year-old Michelle also talked about leaving her role as Corrie’s Tina McIntyre: “I could have been there when I’m eighty years old.

“It was a hard decision and it took me a few years to decide but when the time was right, I knew.”

The show airs tonight on Channel 4 at 10pm
