Earlier this week, it was revealed that the real star of TOWIE, Mark and Jessica Wright’s Nanny Pat, had passed away.
The eighty-year-old grandmother to two of the biggest TOWIE stars, Nanny Pat quickly became a favourite in her own right.
The Wright family confirmed the sad news in a statement to the Daily Mail during the week, writing:
“Sadly our amazing, courageous and beautiful Nanny Pat passed away this morning after a short illness.
“We are overwhelmed by sadness, and the whole family ask for privacy at this horrible time.”
Now in a sick twist, Mark Wright took to Twitter today to challenge football fans who taunted his bereavement with a series of chants.
The now TV presenter was supporting his brother Josh who plays for Gillingham FC when supporters from the opposing team started chanting abuse at the brothers over the loss of their nan:
Football is football and hating on the opposing players is all part of it. The few fans chanting disgusting stuff RE our Nan is so low But..

The thousands of @TheGillsFC fans singing THERES ONLY 1 JOSH WRIGHT at 3-0 up puts a smile right back on our faces #upthegills #properfans

Supporters of both teams seemed shocked by the attitudes, tweeting their support to the family:
Imagine giving Josh Wright stick… About his dead nan. Genuinely sums up some Millwall fans?

JE on comments said to Josh Wright:”What they did was absolutely disgusting & I would be embarrassed if they were friends or family of mine”
