Prepare to set the record button.

It looks like Lord Sugar is set to take on a second boardroom, with rumours that the business mogul is in line to take over from Donald Trump on The Apprentice US.

Trump was recently fired from the US version of the show after comments he made earlier this year regarding Mexican immigrants.

According to The Sun, the BBC star, who has fronted the popular business show since 2005, has already been in talks with the show’s creator Mark Burnett.

A source told the newspaper:

“The fact that Sugar has a pretty bad relationship with Trump would make landing his old job all the more sweet.

“Lord Sugar is not that famous in the States but he has had some massive spats with Piers Morgan on Twitter, so people are aware of him.”

"You think you can play and second guess me? Well let me tell you - I am as hard to play as a stradovarius. And you lot, I can tell you, are as easy to play as bongo drums!"

Fans of the BBC show don’t need to worry though, as Lord Sugar has apparently told bosses he is loyal to his UK audience and won’t film the US show to clash with the London boardroom antics.

If you’re looking to get a fix of your favourite show, apparently the new season of The Apprentice UK will be back in October.
