Michelle Obama and her two daughters, Malia, 14, and Sasha, 12, are arriving into Dublin at lunchtime today.

The US First Lady decided she would spend the day in the capital as her husband President Barack Obama attends the G8 summit in Co Fermanagh.

The Obamas first stop will be Trinity College, according to the Irish Examiner, where they will view the Book of Kells.

They will also be shown the archives documenting Obama’s Irish ancestry.

Michelle and her daughters will head to a performance of Riverdance at Dublin’s Gaeity Theatre this evening. Here, Michelle will speak to a group of young Irish people who have been selected to join them at the performance.

Fionnuala Kenny, the Taoiseach’s wife, and Irish First Lady Sabina Higgins will join Michelle at the event.

Michelle and the two girls were eager to visit Ireland.

Tonight, Michelle will sleep at the Shelbourne Hotel’s €2,500-a-night Princess Grace Suite. Sasha and Malia will have their suits adjoining their mum’s.

Tuesday morning, the girls and their mum will get up early for breakfast in their suite and put on their hiking boots. The three want to take a walk in the Wicklow hills and visit Glendalough.

They will fly to Belfast in the evening to join Barack again before he flies on to Germany.

Keep your eyes peeled…
