Coronation Street star Kate Ford has spoken out about splitting from her husband of seven years, Jon Connerty.
The actress, who plays Tracy Barlow in the popular programme, told The Sun newspaper that it was a very difficult time in her life.
She explained: “We really tried hard to make it work. But it came to the point when we knew we had to get a divorce.
“Things had changed and it wasn’t what it was. But it was incredibly painful. For a while after we split, I found it hard to get out of bed.”

The 36-year-old added that things are better now: “I wasn’t at work at the time, and I’d drop Otis off at school and go back to bed until I picked him up.
“And now, 14 months on, what happened doesn’t consume me as much as it used to. It used to consume me every minute of every single day.”
Last year the couple, who have a six-year-old son together (Otis), revealed that they were taking some time apart.
