They may be a glamorous A-list couple that commands the red carpet, but Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel’s romance started in a pretty old-fashioned way.
In the modern days of internet dating and Facebook chat, it’s refreshing to hear that Justin Timberlake decided to take the old-fashioned route to winning over Jessica Biel.
Speaking to Glamour magazine, JT admitted the couple’s love story started out in a “very un-Hollywood-esque” way.
After meeting through mutual friends, Justin decided to take the plunge and ask Jessica out on a phone call:
“There was nothing starry about the way we got together… I did it the old fashioned way — by telephone. That’s something I learned from both my stepdad and my grandfather — that there is a thing called chivalry and it doesn’t have to die with the birth of the Internet.
“The way I see it, if you’re asking a girl out on a date, it’s only right to do it in a way that she can hear your voice. I had to be pretty persistent in order to get her to say yes. But, if I want something I stick to it. And in the end she agreed.”
It seemed like Jessica appreciated the effort, with the pair happily married eight years later.
The couple, who started dating in 2007, married five years later in 2012.
They welcomed their first child together, son Silas Randall in April this year.
