Dannii Minogue struggled to keep it together Sunday night on the Australian version of X Factor.
It is thought that her grandmother passed away two weeks ago after a long battle with cancer.
Dannii’s contestant Dami Im performed the classic Bridge Over Troubled Water only for fellow judge Redfoo to say he barely knew the song.
The mother-of-one and fellow judges Ronan Keating, 36, and Natalie Bassingthwaighte, 38, were stunned when the former LMFAO frontman, 37, claimed he had only heard the classic 1970 ballad ‘maybe three times in my life’.
Turning to Redfoo Dannii said: ‘It’s not about singing it like “raaaa, it’s a rock song.” She urged him to connect to the song and the emotion it creates.
After seeing his colleague visibly upset, fellow judge Ronan stood up to give her a hug and Natalie put a comforting arm around her.
Following the show, Dannii posted a photo of herself with Dami, 24, on her Tumblr page.

She captioned the image: ‘Dami’s song this week, Bridge Over Troubled Water, was for anyone going through a tough time or anyone who needs to feel a little hope.
‘Dami helped me dedicate this performance tonight to my family and my beautiful Grandmother who just recently passed away.’
