Iggy Azalea has slammed the criticism she has received of late and has claimed that it is a result of “misogynistic attitudes.”
The singer spoke to Vanity Fair and spoke of how she is treated differently in the industry for being female.
Responding also to critics of the genre of music she is in, she stated; “If you go back to the Rolling Stones and Elvis Presley and Eminem, they’ve basically done black music.
“I felt this wasn’t that far from what we’ve seen in music history over and over again,” she added.
“Well, they don’t say that stuff about Macklemore. So, yes, I think is has 100,000 per cent to do with the fact that I have a vagina,” she stated.
Iggy performed at Wednesday night’s People’s Choice Awards and also scooped the gong for Favourite Hip-Hop Artist.
