I’m A Celebrity contestant Rebbeca Adlington broke down in tears last night after admitting that rival contestant Amy Willerton made her feel insecure about her body.
The 24-year-old retired professional swimmer, who has won two Olympic gold medals said she has struggled with people making comments about her body previous to taking part in the show: ‘It’s making me very, very insecure that I have to look [a certain way]. For me, I was an athlete.
‘I wasn’t trying to be a model, but pretty much every single week on Twitter I get somebody commenting on the way I look.’

Rebecca broke down in tears on last night’s show
21-year-old Amy tried to comfort her fellow contestant, claiming she had also experienced unkind remarks as a young girl.
She said: ‘People say nasty things and you have to drive your inner confidence.’
However, the other female contestants agreed with Rebecca, Lucy Pargeter of Emmerdale fame told Amy: ‘Yeah, but if you look like you that’s an awful lot easier than for someone who is self-doubting’.
Amy was able to stand up for herself insisting, ‘Tell that to the 15-year-old me covered in acne and braces and glasses. I’ve been there.’
Despite Amy’s words, Rebecca refused to be consoled about her body insecurities, saying: ‘[Amy would] be stunning if she took away the tan, the eyelashes, the lip tint, the concealer, the big [breasts].’

Amy told Rebecca that she too had experienced body insecurity as a teenager
The other participants have noticed a divide between Rebecca and Amy with Westlife’s Kian Egan commenting, ‘There seemed to be a slight bit of a clash between Rebecca and Amy. You can just see a different side to people’s personalities.’
