Former model Katie Piper has announced that she’s pregnant with her first baby!
“I just want to shout it from the rooftops” the TV presenter said.
“I love children and I’d always hoped I’d be able to have a family. I’m so excited.”
Piper, 30, met her partner two years ago and had her 12-week scan last week but admitted that it didn’t come as a huge shock that she was pregnant.
“We have been trying and this was all planned,” she said.
The former model suffered from a horrific acid attack that left severe burns to her face and chest and admitted that there were times when she thought that she would never have children.
“I’ve always known that I have wanted children but there were moments after what happened to me that I never thought this would happen, I never believed this would be my future. It’s beyond incredible.”
“It’s because I’m so happy about it that it’s been so hard keeping quiet and I’m actually relieved to be able to tell everyone. It’s really nice to share this news with people who have given me so much support over the years.”
Since her attack in 2008, Piper has also set up her own charity, The Katie Piper Foundation, which organises activities for people with burns and scars. The foundation also looks at assisting people with medical treatments.
