Multi-million Lotto-winning couple Kevin Geoghegan and Carol Loran have broken up, just one month after they scooped their win.
The winners jetted off for a romantic holiday after sharing the €10.6 million jackpot, the Irish Sun reports, but have since decided to do “their own thing”.
The Co Westmeath couple only started seeing each other for a few weeks before they bought the golden ticket together.
Forty-six-year-old Geoghegan told the paper they flew out to the sun together before realising it just wasn’t meant to be.
“We went to the Puerto Rico in Gran Canaria and had a great time altogether,” he said.
“But things are not the same now. She is doing her own thing and I am doing me own thing a lot.
“Things didn’t work out, that’s the way it goes.”
The couple shared the massive jackpot.
Kevin went public when himself and 39-year-old Carol won the millons, but said he understands why the latest €94 million Irish winner mightn’t want to spill the beans.
“What I won is pennies in comparison. This is in a different league altogether, so it makes more sense not to tell anyone,” Kevin said.
“The one tip I would have for the winner is to enjoy it. Look after those who are important in your life. Make sure they are comfortable, and then just go and enjoy it.”
