Aidan Turner is reportedly engaged to Irish actress Sarah Greene, having popped the question shortly after Christmas.
According to the Sunday Express, Aidan popped the question to Cork actress Sarah after the couple spent Christmas with his parents.
Speaking to the newspaper, a friend of the couple said:
“They are a really close and happy couple, and marriage is the logical next step for them. Sarah is perfect for him, she’s very protective. Both of them don’t really go for the glitzy side of showbusiness; they’re happier spending quiet evenings playing Scrabble.”
The 31-year old actor, known for his roles in The Hobbit and Being Human, has seen his fame rise considerably this year, with BBC drama Poldark making the Dubliner a household name.
Aidan and Sarah, who was nominated for both a Tony and an Olivier award last year for her role in The Cripple of Inishmaan alongside Daniel Radcliffe on Broadway and in the West End, have been dating since 2012.
The couple’s representatives have not yet confirmed the reports.
