Lea Michele has said that Glee co-star Kate Hudson was one of the first people she called after hearing that her boyfriend Cory Monteith had passed away.
‘I called her and said, I don’t know where I’m going to go because my house is swarmed [with reporters],’ Lea said in an interview with Elle magazine. ‘She was like, “Oh, you’re going to stay at my house.” Like it was nothing.’
‘She let my family stay there, and of my friends. She made sure that in the refrigerator were my favourite juices,’ Michele said. ‘I’ll never really be able to thank her, truly, for what she did for me.’
Kate and Lea met in 2012 when 34-year-old Hudson joined the cast of Glee, guest starring as Cassandra July, the dancer teacher of Lea Michele’s character Rachel Berry.

Lea and Cory were very much in love
Cory passed away in July this year due to a toxic mix of heroin and alcohol.
Lea also commented on how she has chosen to move forwards following Cory’s death, saying: ‘Now that I’m in this position, you can choose to rise, which is what I’m going to try to do.’
‘It’s very hard and you have to be very strong to come out of this alive, but I think by doing the best for myself, by showing that you don’t have to lose yourself, maybe someone else will feel some sort of strength or comfort.’
Glee commemorated Cory, who played Finn on the show, by filming a tribute episode to him entitled The Quarterback.
