Melanie Walcott, wife of Arsenal striker Theo Walcott, is expecting her first baby.
The couple said in a statement: ‘We are both very excited at such happy news just a few months after getting married. We are really looking forward to becoming parents.’
They are a very private couple, preferring to keep their relationship out of the media.
Having dated for 9 years, they married in June of this year.

When Theo was selected for the English squad in 2006, Melanie was touted as the new Coleen Rooney but the sports physiotherapist decided to focus on her career.
It is thought their baby is due next summer, around the time that Theo will be in Brazil for the 2014 World Cup which begins on June 12.
If selected for the England squad in the World Cup, the footballer will also be required to attend a training camp in Miami early next summer, before the tournament begins.
