Uh oh.
Holly Willougby has been criticised for choosing to dress her daughter Belle, in a pair of Giuseppe Zanotti boots, which retail at a cool £395 (€460).
The ‘Dolly’ boots were also worn by Blue Ivy at this week’s MTV Video Music Awards and so, Holly drew attention to this by posting the below photo on Instagram.
This Morning presenter Holly wrote:
“Blue Ivy going to the VMA’s… Belle going to a birthday party at the farm! #giuseppezanotti@giuseppezanottidesign”.
However, she’s probably regretting posting this comparison now as many of her Instagram followers have expressed their anger at Holly’s choice of footwear.
People appear to be p*ssed off at the fact that Belle’s shoes are so expensive and aren’t shy about expressing their feelings:
One user wrote:
“Don’t show off with ridiculously over priced trainers holly… For a child as well, who will grow out of them in weeks and scuff them in seconds …. Bragging wasn’t something I had you down for..”
Another said:
“£390 shoes to go to the farm in”.
This user commented:
“Wow!! Why would you spend so much on a kids pair of shoes.”
Someone else pointed out that Holly may have been gifted the trainers for her little girl, writing:
“Holly was probably given these which is why she’s posting it on here as a Thankyou to the supplier, obviously I don’t know Holly but I’m pretty sure she wouldn’t post photos of her kids clothes or shoes if she wasn’t given them she doesn’t strike me as that type of person at all.
“Good on her though I’m sure if we were in her position and was given lovely freebies we’d do the same, I know I would”.
Some of the popular presenter’s fans leapt to her defence though with this Instagram user vehemently sticking up for her:
“Can I just say@hollywilloughby works dam hard, I always turn my TV on and see her on various programme’s and I really admire her work ethic especially juggling motherhood with 3 small children.. It’s nobody’s buisness what she spends her money on!!! Bitter & jealousy is such an ugly look on a lot of you! I’m sure if you worked as hard as she does you would be buying nice things to [sic]!!!
Another agreed, commenting:
“Jealousy is a bloody awful thing! If she wants to spend that much on her children so be it! It’s not coming out of your pocket so leave the woman alone”.
It’s clear that not everyone agrees with Belle’s shoes but there’s no denying that Holly has a very loyal fan following who won’t hear a bad word said about her.
