Star couple Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones are set to split after 13 years of marriage it has been reported this week.
According to an insider; “Michael is going to announce the split soon. Catherine is fighting to save the marriage but he’s had it.”
Reports of the marriage crisis were denied recently but according to the Mirror, Michael’s spokesman would only say yesterday: “I won’t talk about that.”
It’s been a rocky few years for the couple with Douglas being diagnosed with throat cancer in 2011, while Catherine checked herself into a clinic for treatment recently for her bipolar disorder.
According to one report this week there were rumours that there would be a multi-million dollar divorce battle but an insider close to the couple said that claim was not true:
“Divorce would be the final straw,” they told Grazia magazine.
“It would be too damaging for the children and a strain on both of them emotionally and health wise.”
Their marriage has been long regarded as one of the strongest relationships in Hollywood.
