Her Hero Of The Week… Celebrating The GAA

Her

Ever wondered where all the good men are gone? Or where are all the gods? So have we.

It’s that time of the week again, ladies…

This week’s #HerHeroOfTheWeek goes to one organisation that has been bringing people together for almost 13 decades.

Whether you follow the GAA championship or not, there is no denying that the sporting organisation is one of the greatest of its kind in the entire world… now there’s a video to prove it.

Produced by former Armagh captain and BBC commentator, Jarlath Burns, this video that celebrates ‘125 Years of the GAA’ was first broadcast when Dublin played Tyrone at Croke Park for the first round of the National League back in 2009.

After receiving a number of requests to upload it online, the video has finally made its way onto YouTube for everyone to appreciate once again.

Narrated by the legendary Mícheál Ó Muircheartaigh, it makes for perfect Sunday viewing.

A tip of the hat to our brothers over at JOE.ie for this one.

Do you know a HERO?

Ladies, every week we will select one complete gentleman to be Her Hero, not without your help of course…

How can you help? Send an image of someone you think is an absolute hero, and if we agree, your entry will get a very deserving and coveted place.

He doesn’t have to be fast, he doesn’t necessarily have to be brave, or have ever been involved in a fight in his life… but it may help.

The picture can be anything, a nice gesture from your boyfriend (providing you have one), a text from your Dad or friend, or even someone lovely you happen to meet on the street. Surprise us!

Send your potential Her Heroes to grace.oreilly@her.ie or use the #HerHeroOfTheWeek on Twitter.
