“Heartbroken”: Tributes From Friends And Co-Stars Flood In For Fast And Furious Actor Paul Walker

Paul Walker passed away on Saturday afternoon after being involved in a single car collision.

American actor Paul Walker best known for his role as undercover agent, Brian O’ Connor in the Fast And Furious action films, has died following a single car collision in South California.

40-year-old Walker was a passenger in a friend’s car, when the driver lost control of his Porsche GT and crashed into a tree. The car was immediately engulfed in flames and both men died at the scene.

The actor had just attended a charity event for his organisation, Reach Out Worldwide, to raise money for the Philippines.

A message linked to his official Twitter account confirmed the reports of his death.

The statement posted to Walker’s Facebook page read: “It is with a truly heavy heart that we must confirm that Paul Walker passed away today in a tragic car accident while attending a charity event for his organization Reach Out Worldwide. He was a passenger in a friend’s car, in which both lost their lives. We appreciate your patience as we too are stunned and saddened beyond belief by this news. Thank you for keeping his family and friends in your prayers during this very difficult time. We will do our best to keep you apprised on where to send condolences. – #TeamPW

Tributes from friends and colleagues have flooded in since the news broke of the star’s tragic death.

Walker’s friend and co-star, Vin Diesel, posted the following message to Instagram:  “Brother I will miss you very much. I am absolutely speechless. Heaven has gained a new Angel. Rest in Peace.”

 

Dwayne Johnson, who plays bounty hunter, Luke Hobbs, posted this message to Twitter.

Actor and musician, Ludacris posted this touching message to Facebook accompanied by an image of the Fast and Furious family.

Universal Pictures issued a statement to say studio staff were “heartbroken” by the news of Walker’s death.

“Paul was truly one of the most beloved and respected members of our studio family for 14 years, and this loss is devastating to us, to everyone involved with the Fast & Furious films, and to countless fans.

“We send our deepest and most sincere condolences to Paul’s family.”

A fan of the star’s who had attended the Reach Out Worldwide event uploaded this picture to his Facebook page. The image was captured just a few short hours before the tragic accident.

The fan wrote: “The world lost an angel in Paul. He dedicated so much of his life to helping disadvantaged kids and people who are in need. I’m gonna do whatever I can to keep Paul’s goals for the charity alive.”
