We just can’t believe that Hollywood legend Harrison Ford is going to be celebrating his 70th birthday tomorrow.
Sure he’s been around for as long as we can remember but he just looks so good for his age and is still making adventure films.
To help celebrate this momentous age milestone, here are what we reckon are his five best films. Be warned you might be surprised at out picks.
5. Morning Glory – It’s not the best film in the world or by any stretch of the imagination but we happen to like it. Ford plays a grumpy television broadcaster who isn’t happy when a new young producer, played by Rachel McAdams, starts telling him what to do. Like we said it’s not great but it is entertaining and you get to see Ford playing a lighter comedic role.
4. What Lies Beneath – Call us chickens but when this thriller first came out in 2000 we were cowering behind a cushion on the sofa. What Lies Beneath stars Ford and Michelle Pfeiffer as a married couple who are battling an eerie spirit in their home. Be prepared for a few jumps and twists.
3. Air Force One – Ford plays the American President in this action film which sees Air Force One hijacked by Soviet terrorists lead by none other than Gary Oldman. It’s up to Ford to protect not only his family but everyone on board the plane. Full of action and drama, this film is certainly worth a watch.
2. The Fugitive – Doctor Richard Kimble became one of Ford’s most memorable characters and for good reason. He put on a fantastic performance as the man who is framed for his own wife’s murder. This along with Tommy Lee Jones as the investigator and this classic film is an absolute must-see.
1. Raiders of The Lost Ark – We just couldn’t not have this film at number one. Ford makes his first appearance as Indiana Jones in this film which manages to mix action, comedy and romance. Probably the best of the franchise although we do like Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom as well.
