Today rumours are rife that 30-year-old Cheryl Cole is set to return to the X Factor after departing from the hit ITV show three years ago.
The news of the return comes after X Factor insiders made the revelation to The Mail on Sunday newspaper.
Last week Cowell added to the speculation of the new line up by suggesting he would “find a way” to work with the Geordie lass once again.
In a radio interview the father-to-be said: “She was a really, really good judge. I mean, she took what she did seriously.
“That’s the kind of judge you want to be working with on these shows, because they really care.
“I hope we’re going to get the chance to work together. We have to find a way because we had a lot of fun.”

The news comes just days after rumours of Dannii Minogue’s return to next year’s line up surfaced.
The pair famously fell out after Cole was publicly axed from the US X Factor, however have since patched their friendship up, with Cowell splashing out on a ‘lady’ title for Cole’s 30th Birthday earlier in the year.
It is thought that Nicole Scherzinger will leave the show to concentrate on her music career and that Louis Walsh will retain his role.
The source told the paper that the pair had “fantastic onscreen chemistry” and everyone involved in the production is “excited” by the news.
“The contracts for the show will be drawn up and negotiated in March, but the plan is very much to bring back Cheryl.
“It makes perfect sense to put them back together on-screen, and everyone involved is very excited by the prospect.”
A spokesperson for the show has made no confirmation, saying: “There have been no decisions made on the judging panel for the 2014 UK X Factor series as yet.”
