Dubliner Melanie McCabe impressed the judges so much she is already a strong favourite to win.
After impressing judges and audiences alike, she is now joint favourite with Tamera Foster to win.
16 year old Tamera also made a lasting impression when she performed Whitney Heuston’s I Have Nothing last weekend.
It is Melanie’s fourth time to enter The X Factor and she is determined to make a success of it this time. Things are looking good so far; she shared odds of 6/1 with Tamera to come in first place.
Jessica Bridges of Ladbrokes said: ‘The odds suggest it’s a case of fourth time lucky for Melanie. It’s early days but it’s already like a two horse race between her and Tamera.”

Already a joint favourite, we’re rooting for Melanie
Quirky Abi Alton isn’t far behind at 7/1 after she performed a self-penned song, Jigsaw on last night’s episode, earning her special praise from the judges.
Fighting back the tears, Nicole called Abi a “special angel.” “I just think you’re so courageous. Thank you for sharing it with all of us today,” she added.
It’s hard to tell at such an early age but the girls’ category certainly looks like one to watch…
