Who wants a hurley arch when you can walk under light sabres?!
Yvonne Curran married her “wonderful, dashing and extremely nerdy” husband Joe Weafer in February.
The bride wanted to give the Enniscorthy man an extra special wedding surprise, after deciding that the day should be a celebration of the couple and “not just the usual routine”.
Finding inspiration from some of the pair’s favourite movies, Yvonne made sure to pull out all the stops.
Yvonne decided to recreate the fairly Irish tradition of the hurley arch outside the chapel doors with the help of some friends and a few light sabres.

“What else could I do only import 12 light sabres and have our friends surprise him”.
That wasn’t all, the fantasy theme continued with a replica of ‘sting’ the sword from The Hobbit to cut the cake.
The bride also wore a velvet cape complete with leaf brooch, just like the ones seen The Lord Of The Rings.

Table favours included miniature storm trooper fridge magnets and each table was named after fantasy duos.
“To top it all off, we made our big entrance into the dining room to the star wars theme music,” she continues.
“We had the most fun day and these little touches made sure that my groom had the wedding day of his dreams”.
