“Absolutely shocking, disturbing and upsetting” say fans. Never a dull moment in the soap world.
It has been revealed that TV soap Emmerdale has received 150 complaints following Thursday’s episode that saw Gennie Sharma’s horrific murder.
Many fans of the show were upset that Emmerdale showed the murder scene before the 9pm watershed. According to EntertainmentWise, watchdog Ofcom are currently deciding whether to investigate the episode.
In the episode, Gennie Sharma’s head was seen hitting a window as her car rolled downhill.
Sharma had been chased by serial killer Cameron Murray, who smothered her with his bare hands.

Gennie’s character was played by Sian Reese-Williams.
“I am very glad hat you “enjoyed” and I’m sorry it ended this way!” Reese-Williams wrote on Twitter. “I have loved loved loved my emmerdale years and you guys have been such a huge part of that. I’ll miss Gennie and I’m so glad and proud to know that so many of you will too. Colourful, naggy, funny, quirky and INTENSELY annoying…..but I loved playing her.”
An ITV spokesman said; “This episode was the culmination of a very dramatic storyline which has been running for over a year. We made sure appropriate warnings were broadcast before the episode aired.”
