The engagement ‘joke’ was a major source of conversation among Love Island fans today.
Jack Fincham and Dani Dyer, who met on reality TV show this summer, announced they were engaged and of course, people lost the plot entirely.
However, it later turned out this was all a prank that unfolded when they appeared on Capital FM this morning.
Apparently, they were dared to do it and it was all a bit of a joke which they weren’t taking too seriously.

However, not of all their fans are happy about the situation and some have accused them of pretending to get engaged in a bid to get attention.
Dani is having none of this though and responded to one fan via Twitter.
The person in question said that she thought Jack and Dani were genuine but that the prank made her seem them in a different light.
Dani said that people should give it a rest and the pretence of getting engaged was a joke which shouldn’t define them as a couple.
She then went on to say that people take things way too seriously and they’re allowed to have a wind-up, even if the engagement ‘joke’ didn’t please everyone.
Below is her reply in full:
“Omg give it a rest it was a joke if you think that something like that defines us as people then more fool you have a laugh! people take things way too serious we can have a wind up!”

Do you see the funny side or do you agree with the fan’s reaction?
