Coronation Street icon Jean Alexander has been rushed to hospital following a health scare, according to reports.
The actress, who played Hilda Ogden in the soap for 23 years, was taken to a hospital in Merseyside after medics received an emergency call.
She was apparently kept in for a number of days to receive treatment. It has not been confirmed that she has left the hospital.
Speaking previosuly about her health problems, the 88-year-old said: “I have got osteoporosis and I have lost four inches in height… But this is what happens”.
Jean, who you may recognise from Last Of The Summer Wine, also revealed recently that she no longer watches the show that made her a household name.
“The only stories they seem to have in mind is who’s jumping into whose bed next. I lost interest somehow,” she explained.
“Things have to move on, I know, but in the days of Hilda Ogden, Annie Walker and co, the Street was gentle, funny and human. The humours has all but gone out of it”.
