One of our favourite men in music Mr. Ed Sheeran loves Nidge and the Love/Hate lads as much as we do.
The 23-year-old sold out a surprise gig at Dublin’s Vicar Street on Monday night as part of his promotional tour for forthcoming album, Multiplied.
During his time here the Londoner visited the lovely Ryan and Tracy on SPIN1038’s Fully Charged for an interview that led him to confessing, that just like everyone else in the country, he is “obsessed” with Love/Hate.
“I’m obsessed with that show, third time watching it now,” he admitted.
Sheeran admitted that it wasn’t his Irish relations that introduced him to Nidge and the boys, it was in fact the crew on Taylor Swift’s tour.
“I was in America and they were watching it over there. Lots of yanks on the Taylor Swift tour, all the crew, the roadie crew.
“At first they were like, ‘it’s made by RTÉ’ and was like, ‘oh, right’, but then I watched it and it was incredible.
“I was just instantly hooked in. I want Nidge to be my best mate.” Don’t we all?
Admitting that John Boy, played by Aidan Gillen, was his favourite character Sheeran continued by admitting that he had expressed interest to his record label about doing a cameo.
“I actually said to the label- I’d love to do a cameo. I’d just be one of the little characters on a bike with a little balaclava on, just biking past. I’d love that.
We can’t see why Fran shouldn’t have an English cousin, after all the both have the same shade of locks.
If his cameo doesn’t work out the Lego House singer suggested he may have the lads perform in a music video in the future.
“I might get them in a music video at some point, that could be quite fun.”
