Jimmy Carr has come under fire today for making a joke about Reeva Steenkamp’s murder, just days after athlete Oscar Pistorius was jailed for her death.
The comedian was hosting the Q Awards when he made the comment, which was met with a muted response by the 200 attendees at the event.
“It’s so frustrating. All I’m saying is I can see it from Oscar Pistorius’ point of view.That’s not the controversial bit. Here it comes…” he said.
“I blame her. If she hadn’t been in that disabled toilet none of this would have happened. It’s the f*****g Q Awards, come on!”.
Carr has since been criticised on Twitter, with users branding the joke “sick” and “too soon”.
