Chris Evans has angered Top Gear fans by stealing Jeremy Clarkson’s catchphrase ahead of his new role presenting the motoring show.
Chris, who was signing off from The One Show in a bid to focus on his new project, said his final farewell to viewers using Clarkson’s infamous line: “And on that bombshell…”

The presenter then started giggling before covering his mouth.
The move angered Clarkson supporters and Top Gear fans, with viewers taking to social media to vent their grievances:
Chris Evans using @JeremyClarkson ‘s ‘on that bombshell’ line to close the one show just isn’t right.

Chris Evans has just used Jeremy Clarkson’s “on that bombshell” line and it is safe to say I am not impressed

The mock sign-off comes days after Clarkson claimed the BBC approached him to rejoin the show a week before announcing his replacement with Evans.
Taking a sly dig at Chris, Clarkson revealed he has plans to join his previous co-presenters Richard Hammond and James May to launch a rival long-running motoring show:
“I hope Chris enjoys running what, for the next couple of weeks, is the world’s biggest car show.”
