The husband of X Factor judge Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, Jean Bernard has accepted an undisclosed amount of damages from a magazine over an “upsetting” article that they printed about the couple’s wedding.

Jean Bernard brought proceedings against the magazine citing invasion of privacy and breach of the Data Protection Act at London’s High Court for an article that was published back in August. The charges were brought against Bauer Consumer Media Ltd.

In court, his solicitor Mr Galbraith told the court that the article had caused Jean Bernard upset and distress as it contained a number of inaccuracies including that his wife had paid for her own wedding ring.

The article reportedly also stated that Cheryl’s mother was to move in with the couple and made other comments about how they would live.

According to reports, the publishers accepted that it was an intrusion into his life and agreed to pay damages.
