RTÉ regular Brian Ormond revealed that he was heart-broken when the national broadcaster did not cast him on talent show The Voice.

Brian, who rose to fame on RTÉ’s You’re a Star in 2002, said that he was disappointed about losing out to Kathryn Thomas despite auditioning as co-presenters.

According to The Irish Sun, Brian revealed: “At one stage the producers had us hosting the show together, but then they just went with Kathryn on her own.”

The snub by RTÉ has forced Brian to seek work in Britain where he is currently auditioning for presenting roles.

“I told myself I wasn’t going to sit at home, that they wouldn’t come to me,” he said.

In the meantime, Brian and his wife Pippa are competing in Celebrity Bainisteoir, a programme where they must manage a GAA team and compete against other celebrities for the top prize.

Speaking to Her.ie, Pippa said that anyone could win.

“[Brian] played a small bit when he was younger but I think it could be anyone’s. It’s hard to tell the competition because I’ve only seen myself and Brian’s team, it really could be anyone’s game at the moment.

“Myself and Brian aren’t sharing any tips though, I’m definitely keeping my secrets to myself! I’m good friends with Roz so I’m in touch with her asking her how she’s getting on, but I haven’t seen her team yet either.

“It’s such a big deal for the teams. They want to do well so that makes me want to do well for them too,” she said.
