Another Storm To Hit Tonight And Just Look At The Forecast For Next Week…

Rain, rain and more rain.

Cathy Donohue

We really wish we could be bringing you some good weather news, but unfortunately things aren’t likely to improve anytime soon.

Another storm is set to hit tonight and while it won’t be quite as bad as earlier this week, get set for high winds and heavy rain.

A forecaster has said: “There will be widespread heavy rain at first on Friday night which will gradually turn more showery.

There will be a risk of flooding because of the prolonged downpours.”

According to the Irish Mirror, nearly €30million worth of damage has been caused in Limerick and Cork in the last four weeks.

Those living along the banks of the Shannon have been warned that the river could burst.

People in Enniscorthy, Co Wexford, will also be on edge as the River Slaney threatened to flood earlier this week.

However, next week is set to get even worse as a stronger storm has been forecast for Monday night continuing into Tuesday morning.

The Met Éireann website predicts the following for next week:

Outlook is for a continuation of the very disturbed weather. Further periods of heavy rain are expected with a continuing danger of flooding

A further stormy period is likely Monday night and Tuesday.
