Actress Jessica Alba is set for a major payday, as her eco-friendly nappy company is expected to float on the stock market with a valuation of $1 billion.
The Fantastic Four star founded The Honest Company, which sells “unquestionably safe, eco-friendly, beautiful, convenient, and affordable” baby and household products, with entrepreneur Christopher Gavigan two years ago and the business has been extremely successful.
The company had revenues of $150 million last year and it is thought that Alba is now planning to float the business on the stock market, with Wall Street giving it an initial valuation of $1 billion.
The actress, who has two children with husband Cash Warren, is believed to work up to 60 hours a week at The Honest Company between filming projects and while comparisons have been drawn between the brand and Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop, Alba said that her advice is more down to earth.
“Gwyneth Paltrow probably lives a very similar lifestyle, but I didn’t grow up with a bunch of money, so my tips are much more grounded: repurposing things and making things at home,” she said.
