We all struggle with our less than sparkling names sometimes but ‘Amazing Spiderman’ actress, Emma Stone revealed that she spent ages racking her brain for a catchy stage name at the beginning of her career.
The actress’ birth name is Emily Stone but another person by the same name had already registered with the Screen Actor’s Guild, forcing her to come up with something different.
Emma revealed all to Interview magazine: “I was 16 at the time, and I hadn’t done anything yet.
“I was like, ‘I can be whatever I want to be. What name do I want to have?’
“So I went through a list of names and picked Riley.”

The name soon became an issue when Emma was filming scenes for hit noughties TV show, ‘Malcolm in the Middle’.
“Everyone kept yelling ‘Riley’ and I didn’t know who to they were talking to.
“I had to change my professional name to Emma, which my mom always called me,” she said.
The actress has been cuddling up to her ‘Amazing Spiderman’ costar Andrew Garfield this summer and Her.ie thinks they are the cutest couple ever!
