A new app, Calculator %, is allowing people to store hidden photos to their phone under a secret icon disguised as a calculator tool in the home menu.
The app gained attention earlier this week, when District Attorney in Blount County, Tennessee uploaded a video on Facebook – warning parents the dangers of their children owning a smartphone with this secretive app.
Does your child have this app– Calculator%? You need to know what this app really is for— and it isn’t for adding numbers! Check out this new video (less than 2 minutes)!

As explained in the video, which went viral thanks to being featured on Buzzfeed, the app has a secret ability to store hidden data on a smartphone.
The app appears as an additional calculator app incon on the phone to an ordinary user, but once a secret code is entered, the phone user gains access to a series of secret images stored behind a protective password.

The files also don’t appear anywhere else on the phone – meaning those illicit images could be kept from prying eyes pretty easily.
While the app was first publicised to alert parents to be extra vigilant with their children’s phone habits, Twitter users have since pointed out the obvious benefits to people who might be leading a double life…

Or just one they remain to keep distinctly private and separate from the rest of their lives.
We’ve a feeling some people are going to be in a LOT of trouble.
